Forest Blockmesh
For this assignment I was tasked with creating a blockmesh for an adventure game in a modern-ish time period on earth. I started by creating a level outline with several reference images for the level start, focal point, and level end of my blockmesh and then began building my level based off notable landmarks in the references images. When creating my blockmesh I made sure to keep the player engaged at least every 10 seconds with changes in direction and altitude as well as platforming. I gave the player a sense of direction with breadcrumbs, as well as a solid sense of what is and is not possible via usage of affordance. Finally I took the player through alternating areas of prospect and refuge with varying camera angles to match the intensity of the level design.
